Currently Accepted

After Skyfire is currently accepting the following general types of characters:

Blood of the houses
- Lords or ladies of the holds immediately adjacent to the capital (please do not create one of these holds fresh unless it is part of an application for a Lord Holder; use an existing neighboring hold instead and contact its author if you will be playing close family)
- Blooded persons (from anywhere) that are for some reason (business, study, politicking...) resident in the capital
- Blooded persons living or working in the Regent's Estate, of Telgar blood or otherwise

Harpers
Masters (age 30 and up)
Journeymen (ages 16 and up)
Apprentices (ages 10-18)
Students (any age, no rank)

Scholars
Masters (age 30 and up):
- Rectors (see Limited Availability Characters)
- Provosts (middle rank master)
- Fellows (lowest rank master)
Journeymen (ages 16 and up)

Dragonriders - bronze (men only), brown, blue and green (men and women)
All: ages 26 and up (21 and up for the class of 680) - no weyrlings currently
Please look at the Clutch Records and either:
a) make sure your dragon and dragonrider fit into one of the clutches noted, or
b) create a clutch no less than 3 years away from another already listed clutch. (As of this writing, all clutches from turn 664 forward are established - no more will be added from 664 to 684. There is plenty of room for riders from within the established clutches, however!)

Clever Remark: Great men are almost always bad men.

After Skyfire is not currently accepting:

Commonfolk. Commoners cannot move in enough circles of society to play major political roles in this setting. If you believe you have devised a clever exception, contact staff before attempting to post a profile. For reasons that have little to do with the quality of your concept, it may not be possible to approve even a good concept for a commoner. Have a backup plan. ;)

Weyrlingmaster's assistants. Assistants (always riders, but of any kind) are only named when a clutch is on the sands or weyrlings are in the barracks. They are chosen by the weyrlingmaster once he or she is formally named, usually soon after the clutching and well before the hatching.

Wingseconds. Wingseconds will be accepted when we have a few wingleaders, as wingleaders need to be established in order for the wingseconds to know what their profile should be like!

Junior weyrwomen. Our next weyrwoman will probably impress on-camera. Feel free to design a character that could later be a candidate!

Candidates. There is no clutch on the sands at this time, so there are no candidates at the weyr. If you think you might want your character to become a candidate in the future, write him or her to be between ages 17 and 29, and of no more than journeyman rank.

HAD (Hears-All-Dragons) characters. They are neither known in Pern at this time, nor are any present in the city or weyr at this time.
